I purchased a nice Celestron NexStar telescope over a year ago and the lenses that came with it are workable. But after getting this lens kit, "workable" is a matter of opinion, because these are SOOOO much better. With the stock lenses, I could see Saturn and its rings and a couple of moons. I could get Jupiter and Mars. The moon, obviously, could be seen with very good detail. HOWEVER, with these lenses, I could see the star cluster in M42 (the "sword" of the Orion constellation), a bunch of stars with their color spectrum easily detected, and I even pulled up Uranus without much difficulty. Seeing Uranus was pretty much impossible with my stock lenses. I'll have to wait until summer for Jupiter and Saturn. The Barlow lens does allow for an attachment to connect a DSLR camera. I have the Nikon D5600 and purchased the Gosky Nikon Camera T Adapter M42x0.75 T2 threads which fit the Barlow and my camera perfectly. Unfortunately, the added weight made taking pictures of stars and planets difficult. And the moon, tonight when I was stargazing, was near the sun over the Pacific Ocean. I'm excited to take this kit out later, on a warmer night and with my astronomy club, to try out the filter set.

This is a great purchase for anyone interested in astronomy. The three eyepieces are of great quality (specially thrilled about the 20 mm one). The Barlow lens is also a highlight, it's made of metal and the lens is made of glass (increasing sharpness as opposed to plastic Barlows). The filters are of great quality too. The aluminum case is beautiful and durable; overall a worth purchase, cannot recommend it enough.

Great Value for your Buck

I like this kit as it has a variety of items for my spaceprobe ST130. All the lenses work well and the Barlow 2X is good at bringing in the planets into view at a better magnification. I have been using it just about every night, only not when there are clouds lol. I love the range but love especially seeing Jupitar and the rings of Saturn. The filters help with the brightness and swing the objects better. I cant wait until the moon can be seen and Mars is close enough to view as I believe these lenses will give me a great view to see.

Surprisingly high quality optics for the price. All the lenses are crystal clear, the barlow works well, and the filters are a must! Used with my Orion Astroview 120ST. Year later update: Use these with my new 6" reflector. The image is still sharp as ever. Also have been able to use the R G and B filters to do some basic photometry!

GREAT GLASS FILTERS AND EYEPIECES

This little kit is a great way to get more out of your telescope. The glass filters are high quality, and the eyepieces are superior to what usually comes with a telescope. The Barlow has some aberration problems. But all in all, a great price for an upgrade to your telescope.
