I'd argue the exact opposite. It's better to let people talk and be in the public discussion than to have them internalize and become resentful. The smaller the Overton window the more radicalized people outside of it become. Let people shout their stupid ideas across the internet but let us also counter those stupid ideas with better ones.

This week I really discussed with anti vaxxers on fb. They are really crazy as fuck. They think WHO and unicef and all studies are faked and paid by Rothschild. It is only about making money. Vaccines don‘t work and cause autism. I tried to discuss with them and asked for proof and sources. Everything I got were YouTube videos and the movie vaxxed. Also about 30 people insulted me. This was on a page with the topic health and nature. These people are crazy as fuck.

In the beginning of the internet the talk went about how the easy access of knowledge to everyone would make the world a better and more educated place.
