Hành tây, bông cải xanh, cà rốt cạo vỏ, rửa sạch. Bông cải xanh tước bỏ bớt phần xơ cứng, cắt khúc ngắn. Cà rốt cắt khoanh tròn, hành tây bổ múi cau.
Đậu hũ non rửa sạch, cắt hạt lựu lớn. Hành lá rửa sạch, cắt nhỏ.
Đun nóng 3 muỗng cà phê dầu ăn, phi tỏi băm thơm, cho thịt bò vào xào nhanh tay lửa lớn, thịt bò chín tái đổ ra bớt, để qua một bên.
Dùng lại chảo đó, cho cà rốt, bông cải xanh vào xào, rưới vào 1 muỗng canh xì dầu, 1/2 muỗng cà phê dầu hào, 1/2 muỗng cà phê đường và một ít nước lọc, đun sôi.
Đun từ 6 đến 9 phút, ăn thử phần cà rốt chín thì cho tiếp đậu hũ non, hành tây vào đun cùng, cầm tay cầm của chảo lắc đều, đậy kín nắp, đun sôi thêm khoảng 10 - 13 phút.
Nêm nếm lại gia vị cho vừa ăn, cuối cùng cho chén thịt bò vào đun cùng, đun tiếp khoảng 3 phút thì tắt bếp, thêm hành lá vào.
Múc ra đĩa, rắc lên bề mặt một ít hạt tiêu, dùng làm món mặn ăn với cơm.
